✦ Mr Men & Little Miss Advent Calender
This means that Christmas is coming but it also means that the end of 2013 is nearing~
Like I've mentioned in the previous entry, I got myself an advent calender to count down to Christmas! I've always heard a lot about advent calenders but it wasn't popular in Singapore - It was only in the recent years that advent calender started selling here. The reason it isn't popular in Singapore is because we don't celebrate Christmas like how it is celebrated in the States. It is not such a big holiday here compared to the Chinese New Year.
Christmas in Singapore
For my family, we gather with relatives and cousins on Christmas eve to have a big feast and do a present exchange. The big feast usually consist of a roast turkey, mashed potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, steamed veggies and garlic bread. This feast is pretty much the same every year and it is considered a special feast because not everyday we eat that kind food. We don't really do any Christmas decorations too because we live in apartments and they're small, on top of that, it is summer all year round in Singapore (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞
Product: Mr Men & Little Miss Advent Calender by WINDEL
Where can you purchase this from: Cold Storage (only in the month of November/December)
This was the design that I chose~ Mr Men & Little Miss character! It is imported from Germany as you can tell from Mr Men and Little Miss names. I checked out their homepage and it seems they have many other characters like Barbie, Transformers, Bob the Builder and Fairly Odd Parents(!!!!!) I wanted the Fairly Odd Parents one so bad because I am a HUGE fan but they only had this and the Transformers... щ(ºДºщ)
They had templates of Christmas tags at the back of the box for you to cut out!
If you're not sure what an advent calender is (for fellow Asians lol), it is a count down calender to Christmas! There are various types like a beauty advent calender but this is a chocolate version. On the calender, there are little boxes with chocolate hidden beneath and each box are labelled numbers 1-24. So starting from 1st of December, you begin the count down by opening the box with the number corresponding to the date, which in this case is the box labelled 1!
Usually beneath the chocolate, there are pictures or messages so it'll be a little cute surprise! The calender I had was a cheap one so it was simple and probably for kids LOL, but I just wanted to try it out. Besides WINDEL, there were other brands of advent calenders like Cadbury, which are much bigger but more expensive.
Because I did not keep this in the fridge, the first chocolate melted and I couldn't get it out nicely for a picture... The shape on the chocolate seems like it is of a burning candle - and then we have Mr Bump on skis!
2nd chocolate we have is a shape of a plane and Little Miss Sunshine ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)
It was pretty delicious~
